Primary Camp A - Dean's Letter

Please view the letter below from Ripp Hardaway, the Dean for Primary Camp A. See y'all then!

Dear Primary Camp A Parents,
I cannot begin to tell you how excited the team and I are about our Primary A Camp.  We cannot wait to be together the week of June 12th – 18th.  We have already begun our work on this week with a focus on teaching the campers what God is like.  We hope that when the campers leave they will have several biblical images and will be able to tell you how they understand God.  Please send your child(ren) prepared to be a part of an amazing time of fun and learning about God in Christ.  Please bring a Bible.
We will have an incredible week together.  Our teachers will be Amy Beale of St. Alban’s in Harlingen and Sue Hardaway of St. John’s in New Braunfels.  Both Amy and Sue are the Children and Family Minister at their churches.  They are terrific teachers and organizers and have put together a awesome week.  Our chaplain for the week will be the Rev. Scott Brown.  Scott is the rector of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Harlingen.  Your dean for the week is me, the Rev. Ripp Hardaway.  I serve St. John’s in New Braunfels, Texas.  We are looking forward to getting to work with your child(ren) and sharing a wonderful week at camp.
I have a couple of reminders for you.  Check-in will begin NO EARLIER than 4:00 p.m. on the 12th of June.  If you arrive early please know that we will not begin before that time due to all the prep work for all the counselors, teachers and many staff persons.  Check-in closes at 5:00 p.m. on this day so in order to participate in the full life of the camp please make every effort to be here by then.  If you are in a bind please let us know if you will be arriving late.
The closing service will be at 10:00 on the 18th of June.  Please mark it on your calendars and come get a glimpse of what your child(ren) has been doing during the week.  If you have never been to a closing service you will not want to miss this one.  Camp officially ends after the closing service.  Please do not take your children before the closing service.
PARENTS:  Please be sure to write your child(ren) during the week.  Receiving mail can be a highlight especially if you have never been to camp before.  Please be aware that as a camp whose focus is on community we would like to ensure that we live peacefully through the week.  As such we ask that you prevent your child(ren) from brining the following: pocket knives, fireworks, ipods, gameboys, skateboards, music with bad lyrics, and anything that will cause a problem.
We look forward to seeing you and meeting you on the opening day.  And we as a team want you to know that we are honored that you trust the diocese, the staff and us with your child(ren) for the week.  See you soon!
In Christ,
Ripp Hardaway

Ripp,

Kaden is so excited to join you at camp next week! He has a "gift Bible" (King James version) and various story Bibles, but I would like to purchase a Life Application or Adventure Bible for him. Which do you use or recommend with kids??

Thanks for any insight!

Best,

Amy Liles
