ICA Dean's Letter

Please read the letter below from Nate Bostian, the Dean for ICA. See y'all then!

Summer Camp 2011 | Dean's Letter for Intermediate Camp A
Dear Intermediate Camp A Parents,
The time is almost here for summer camp, and I am incredibly excited! We cannot wait to be together the week of June 26th – July 2nd. We have an awesome theme for 2011. It is "Farmville: Growing strong in Jesus", and it will be a Summer Camp Experience based on the Parable of the Sower and the Seed in Luke 8. Over the course of the week, we will be exploring how God sows his message into our lives, and how we can reap the harvest of a fulfilling, Christ-centered life. Please share our excitement about this rich experience, and send your child(ren) prepared to be a part the fun and learning we will experience. Please ask your child(ren) to bring their enthusiasm, their questions, and their Bible!
For this wonderful week together, we are blessed to have as our co-teachers Betty Mosty and Jorie O'Brien from St. Peter's in Kerrville Texas. Both Betty and Jorie have many years experience with youth and family ministry, and they have been putting together some very creative ideas for our campers! Our chaplain for the week will be the Rev. Stephen Carson. Stephen is a curate at St. Luke's in San Antonio. My name is The Rev. Nate Bostian, and I will be your dean for the week. I serve as chaplain at TMI - The Episcopal School of Texas in San Antonio. We are all incredibly excited about the upcoming week with your child(ren).
I have a couple of reminders for you as you prepare for camp:
  • Check-in will begin NO EARLIER than 4:00 p.m. on the 26th of June. If you arrive early please know that we will not begin before that time due to all the prep work for all the counselors, teachers and many staff persons.
  • Check-in closes at 5:00 p.m. on this day so in order to participate in the full life of the camp please make every effort to be here by then. If you are in a bind please let us know if you will be arriving late.
  • The closing service will be at 10:00 on Saturday, July 2nd. Please mark it on your calendars and come get a glimpse of what your child(ren) has been doing during the week. If you have never been to a closing service you will not want to miss this one. Camp officially ends after the closing service. Please do not take your children before the closing service.
PARENTS: Please be sure to write your child(ren) during the week. Receiving mail or emails can be a highlight especially if you have never been to camp before. Please be aware that as a camp whose focus is on community we would like to ensure that we live peacefully through the week. As such we ask that you prevent your child(ren) from brining the following: pocket knives, fireworks, ipods, gameboys, skateboards, music with bad lyrics, and anything that will cause a problem, or distract them from God's purpose for them at Camp.
We look forward to seeing you and meeting you on the opening day. And we as a team want you to know that we are honored that you trust the diocese, the staff and us with your child(ren) for the week. See you soon!
May Christ fill your life,
Nate Bostian +
Dean, Intermediate Camp A
